DIY Slayer Scythe Project

Materials - cardboard, scissors, exacto knife, ruler, pencil, eraser, hot glue gun and glue sticks, printed template of the scythe,

Goal - to make my very own custom made Slayer Scythe! Never made one before - always up for a challenge! 

Day One 

~I've traced and cut out my cardboard template - scythe ✏📏✂
~Created x5 layers for the staff (middle) of the scythe ( since im using only cardboard I had to create several layers and hot glue gun to create a solid foundation) 
~Used toilet paper rolls to join the staff and the blade together.

Had to improvise a few times - making the staff itself and the first time i traced and cut out the scythe template it was too small and I tried to scan it again and print it out larger but my printer's largest print out is A4 unfortunately, so I had to mimic the scythe as best as I could.

Cutting out the cardboard was tricky, think I need to find a better scissors/exacto knife for the task the best I could but I dont wanna see the smaller version go to waste, so I remembered another character from Angel - Connor - half demon son of Angel and Darla's - when he returned from hell, he had wrist blades and the blade that I cut out was similar so I'm gonna turn it into a wrist blade later after I finish this DIY project  

Next on the agenda
~Paper Mache
~Create the handle leading to the stake itself

I'm thinking of using craft foam for the stake OR just stick to my paper mache. Need to get red felt for the blade and was just gonna use silver paint for the blade itself and use smudging technique with black paint to age it. 
I was gonna get eva foam, heating gun, and other necessary materials - I'm still intending to get those materials but I wanted to try and attempt the paper mache version first and see how it works out.
